BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Two suspects wanted for a murder in Louisiana were arrested on Saturday in Brazoria County, according to authorities.
The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office said deputies received an alert at about 12 p.m. from Flock Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR) about a vehicle driving in Manvel that the Marksville Police Department in Louisiana had added to a hot list.
Officials said the vehicle was believed to be occupied by two suspects in the murder of a 51-year-old man that happened in Marksville four days earlier.
BCSO said at about 1 p.m., BCSO deputies found the vehicle traveling northbound on Cullen Boulevard in Pearland. After a deputy activated the emergency lights and called for additional units, the driver pulled into a parking lot, according to BCSO. That's when deputies, as well as DPS troopers, conducted a high-risk traffic stop, officials said.
Authorities said there were two people inside the vehicle, who BCSO identified as the suspects wanted in the murder, 27-year-old Dawayne Richard and 29-year-old Tylan Turpeau.
Investigators said deputies found a handgun in the vehicle with a serial number that matched that of the firearm used in the murder.
BCSO said Richard and Turpeau were taken into custody and booked into the Brazoria County Detention Center.
